Charlie is a little monkey travelling the world. She wants to make authentic experiences all around the globe and hopes to be an inspiration for others. There are beautiful places to see, people to meet and memories to be made. Charlie shares those in her stories.
Who’s behind Charlie on the Move?
I’m Julia, or Jules, Julie, Jule, Ju… whatever works in your language.
I was born and raised in a small town in Germany and I discovered early on in life my passion for foreign languages, cultures and travel. I studied French before English, I lived two months in Canada after I had finished school and before I started my studies in Linguistics, Cultural Anthropolgy and Economics.
During my studies in Germany and France, I became fluent in French, Spanish and Italian. After an intensive research in Lima, Peru I graduated with a Master’s Degree and went to London where I stayed a year and gained valuable work and life experience.
I was then given the opportunity to kick-start my career in digital marketing on the beautiful island of Malta where I stayed for two years. After this time in the Mediterranean, I was drawn back to city life and returned to London.
At the end of 2021, I put all my belongings in a storage box and became a full-time digital nomad. London is still the place I consider home even though I’m always travelling. When I’m not on the road (or in the air), I dance and sing, I surf or skate or I capture time in photographs.
My passion for travel, foreign cultures and the experiences that make life worth living made me start Charlie on the Move in 2019.
