Nice

A stop along the Cote d’Azur

When Charlie visited the coliving of Nomad Union for their opening weekend and housewarming party, there was of course some time to explore the area. She had one day. Where should she spent it? Antibes? Cannes? Menton? Nice?

Together with some other colivers, they decided to go to Nice which was around 30 minutes away by car.

Massena Square in Nice

The old town of Nice

From the Massena Square to the place of the historic castle, you find the old town of Nice. It is a bustling area with plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as a market. Some of the roads are narrow and pedestrianized. The architecture has a lot from the Italian Renaissance, and also reminded Charlie in parts of the style of Bayonne with the wooden shutters in the windows. The façades show different colours making the place the picture perfect coastal town.

From the old town of Nice, you will notice an incline. Follow it and you will get to the place where the historic castle was that nowadays offers stunning views in all directions.

Waterfall in Nice

Castle Hill in Nice

From several points of the old town, you notice an incline and you might even see a waterfall. Yes, you read that right. A waterfall. At the Castle Hill, the place where the historic castle was, are several view points and platforms and one of them lies above a waterfall.

The views from up there are breathtaking and allow you to see the entire city of Nice, the magnificent shades of blue in the ocean and the snow-covered mountains in the Alps.

Sea promenade and lunch

On the way back, Charlie and the others had a little stroll along the beach promenade in Nice, passed by the famous blue chairs and returned into the old town for lunch. Seafood is the obvious choice by the coast!
